Work Day
I shot this with overhead lighting using an LCD on a C-stand.
I shot this scene with the light in slightly different areas and then adjusted the different lighting effects in Photoshop layers. Basicly I didn’t want the inside of the jacket to be light under the hat and yet I wanted the socks and shoes to stand out. Before starting on the creative aspects, I usually and as I did in this case isolated the image using Topaz Mask AI. From that point on I can explore different creative platforms such as Nik and Topaz Impressions and then choose what I want using different masks and layers in Photoshop. Base Camp
The old man is dressed warmly and complaining about the heat in the studio. His coat is rated for probably -40 below. I like creative captions as much perhaps as photograpy and post processing itself. I shot tethered to my laptop and used Topaz Inpressions, some of my own textures, a little Nik, and of course Photshop, to end up with this final look.

I used many software programs for this project and various textures. The one most useful in arriving at the desired result was Topaz Impressions. A wonderful filter that has seemingly countless variables if you so choose.

Predictions
Well, a new year has come around again so quickly. I wish all of my art and photography friends and all the vast admirers in all the lower worlds, and all the people looking for predictions lined up outside my door, a Happy New Year! This is a self-portrait. Well, I am wearing a mask, please understand. It is difficult to shoot wearing it because it is hot under here! I had my camera set up with a 10 second timer, and I had a remote while posing with overhead lighting. My wife doesn’t want me to take off the mask. Hmmm. . . . .. . . . . .
