NEW MEXICO BIRD OF PARADISE
Beautiful and easy to grow plants throughout the southwest requiring little attention or water. They produce what I think, are exotic flowers in summer and really add to a landscape design.

LITTLE JANIES WHIRLING BUTTERFLIES
Delicate flowers from the garden. It was a windy morning and sunrise was on it's way, but it also didn't take much of a breeze to make this flower sway from side to side. Hence the high ISO for a faster shutter speed.
I processed this in various software programs for the final look here. It's always fun trying something different!little janie whirling butterfliesgarden plantsgardeningplants for the southwestdelicate flowersexotic flowers
A Pause In Creation
A dahlia from my garden ( Seniors Dream ). Sometimes when in the presence of beauty, we can touch that which we really are.

Little Janie Whirling Butterflies
I have a loved flowers and gardens since I was a small boy and it wasn’t until my early fifties that I was able to build my own. I picked this interesting perinial up at a nursery about a year ago. It has such an exotic look and can stand on it’s own in my garden which can be a pretty windy and hot place to be. It is quite wispy on long slender stems about a foot long. The entire flower display on the end is only about 4 inches total so it was definitely a macro shoot. Of course a little wind came up and it doesn’t take much too move such a delicate flower even early in the morning. Of course the flower itself with it’s 4 petals resembles a butterfly hence the name. I bet you saw that right away. :)

DASIES
I have planted daisies and catmint together with the daises in the foreground. A great combination, and both are easy to propagate in the garden.

TULIP
Tulip after wind and rain. I used a lens baby on this shot. It's my first of such a lens and it will take awhile to get the hang of it, but it does offer a really nice artistic effect.

Held In Light
It’s gardening time for me, cleaning and preparing the garden for nature’s flower fest! It took me 3 years to construst my garden as I have always been a lover of flowers. With this as with all my images I will strive to bring to the viewer the emotiional impact I experience. On this image I used Photoshop, Nik, and Topaz Impressions.

Iris
The intricate beauty and magic of creation is perhaps what motivates me to be a gardener along with the great peace of being close to nature. I built my garden over three years as a retreat and a place for meditation. This is my first planting of Iris in the garden and it gets to have it’s picture taken. :)

Lily of the Day
The Stella de Oro daylilies in the garden bloom early and into the fall. This is one of the first to make an appearance! I shot this with a 2.8 aperature for a shallow depth of field.

The Pollenator
After a still life session with tulips I opened one and used a flash and macro lens to capture the inner workings.
