Inner Sanctum
Inside the ruins of Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Chaco Canyon contains elaborate ruins having there beginning around 800 AD which continued to around 1100 AD. Constructed by Puebloan people on what they believed to be a sacred location. Having had the pleasure of being able to visit, I can say that the peace and stillness of the area is indeed magical and to me is one of the wonders and enchantment of New Mexico if not the world!

Inside Looking Out
Gila Cliff Dwellings.
An explorer of ancient dwellings looks outward with reflection. The ruins were last inhabited by Pueblo people around 7 to 800 years ago and are in a cliff face at an elevation of around 7,000 feet which you have already traveled mostly by car. It is a fairly easy walk with switch-backs.
The ruins are 45 miles north of Silver City but you should allow 2 hours to make the drive on NM-15 or NM-35. We traveled on NM-35 (longer) but about the same travel time, which was one of the most beautiful drives we have experienced in New Mexico.

To Grandmothers House
A fairytale like setting. The original image was shot at Golondrinas Natural History Museum in Sante Fe, New Mexico. In The foreground is what is called a Horno, a mud/adobe oven, still used today here in New Mexico by \ Native Americans. When driving through reservation land, bread is often being sold along the way that was made in theses ovens. For more information check out the following link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horno

Trying out a little night photography here with the local camera club. The best time of the month is during a new moon along with clear skies. This was the perfect night!
