The Basket
An 1800’s basket.
This was photographed at Casa San Ysidro: The Gutierrez/Minge House in Corrales, New Mexico. This complex is part of and run by the Albuquerque, Museum. It’s full of rooms which are full of objects dating back in history. This particular basket was in the hallway entrance. Although the basket is indeed beautiful by itself I wanted to work with it in an artistic way to invoke the feelings I had when seeing it. The Warmth Inside
Having been close to being homeless at one time, this represents looking into the warmth of a restaurant while sitting in the dark during a cold rain waiting for the bus.
WALKING THE PLANK
I had fun doing this. I love mixing it up and having differnt styles in my various works.
In this, the clock and windchimes are actually suspended by fishing line while the shell is propped up. As for the crow, I brought him back (image) from a trip and placed him on the plank. Along with the addition of the crow I added the title of the image onto the clock along with reversing the image reflection of the shell for fun! Garden Party
Originally I had planned on having a fall blooming clematis vine but the flower, being extremely delicate began withering before I had hoped. So what to do. Time for some Black Eyed Susans instead which may have worked out better, but still keeping the vine.

Ice Art
The first freeze of the year beneath a bird bath with falling water frezzing on the rocks and leaves overnight. The ribbons of ice in the central left are actually ice coated daylilly leaves. Pretty I thought, and worth a picture in awe of natures beauty!

A Balancing Act
While working in the garden over the years, I have saved some of these beach pebbles because of their shape. I'm picky, so out of the thousands, I kept but a few. Recently, I decided to spend some quiet time trying to stack and balance them. It was fun and the concentration required can bring a heightened peace and presence, unless one falls off the table onto your foot! :)
